The most expensive limestone head ever purchased!
Tete which means “The Head” was sculpted in 1912 and depicts a woman face wearing a tribal mask. Amedeo Modigliani, the author of this 2 foot tall sculpture, was inspired by the African culture. In 2010 this limestone sculpture was purchased by an unknown collector for $52.6 million.
