#8 – Hell, Hans Memling

14 Most Disturbing Artworks that Challenges People’s Sanity!

via cp12.nevsepic.com.ua complain

Painted in 1485 by German author Hans Memling, this oil painting is one of the scariest art works during its time. The artwork depicts devil dances in hell's mouth while his tummy smiles and sinners burn. It was used to force people to live virtuous lives. Memling even amplified the terrifying effect of the outrageous scene by adding the banner saying: "In hell there is no redemption."
