#3 – Wrangel Island, Russia

6 Post-apocalyptic Places to Travel You Never Forget!

via www.lifeonthinice.org complain

Wrangel Island has an interesting history. This is one of the few parcels of land that escaped glaciation of the last Ice Age. Scientists believe that it is here in the Arctic tundra, world last mammoths roamed. Today, tourists come here for a memorable experience. Animals, which can be called a true relic of a bygone era are still live here - the musk ox, the Pacific walrus, polar owl and a fairly large population of polar bears.
