Since then, the country was ruled by President Denis Sassou Nguesso, who is anything but a conservative politician. His son is known for leading a luxurious life, but a few years ago he was accused that he had illegally appropriated hundreds of thousands of dollars belonging to Chinese state oil company СNPC.
The education system is the most affected by widespread corruption in the country. According to the results of inspections it turned out that more than $2.3 million, earmarked for building schools and other educational institutions, stolen.
