#6 – San Pedro Prison (Bolivia)
A prison where offenders buy their cells.
San Pedro has nothing similar with a traditional prison. It looks like a closed township with restaurants, market stalls, hairdressers and playgrounds. You will not find guards or metal bars. Inmates of San Pedro live a usual life and need to work and pay for their cells. The richest inmates live in large separate cells with a kitchen, bathroom and cable TV.
