New Zealand's oldest national park, Tongariro, is a prototype of Mordor Tolkien's Black country and Mount Doom, the main goal of trip of the Hobbit characters. Tongariro National Park is located on the North Island of New Zealand. It is the fourth oldest park in the world. Tolkien was inspired by local beautiful volcanic mountains Ruapehu, Ngauruhoe, and Tongariro.
