Before cooking potato, make sure you check its skin color. If you notice green spots, throw this potato away. Green skin indicates that potato contains a high amount of solanine – a toxic chemical which appears when potato tuber is exposed to too much light. When ingested, solanine can cause various digestive diseases, nausea, fatigue and headache.
