Also known as the House of Pizarro, the Government Palace was the seat of the Peruvian government headquarters and it currently serves as the official residence and office of the Peru´s President. It was built by Spanish conquistador Francisco Pizarro, over a huge Indian burying ground in the first half of the 16th century. It has been rebuilt many times; the current mansion was constructed in the 1930s.
