Located in the province of Zaragoza, Spain, Belchite is an old ghost Spanish town with a macabre war-torn past. It was damaged in the Spanish Civil War of 1936 to 1939. After 1939 a new village of Belchite was built adjacent to the ruins of the old, which remain a ghost village as a memorial to the war.
