In 1932 in France, two enterprising man began to produce a line of women's cosmetics called «Tho-Radia». The powder and face cream contained radium, which then were ordered miraculous properties. According to the developers, cosmetics «Tho-Radia» made skin clean and healthy. Chloride thorium and radium bromide that were contained in this cream should strengthen processes in cells, smooth skin wrinkles and get rid of minor defects. Instead of that, the women were given a mild form of radiation sickness at the price of 15 francs per 155 grams.
