#7 – Walter Yeo, Known as the First Person to Have Plastic Surgery
British sailor Walter Yeo was the first person who benefit from advanced plastic surgery, namely a skin flap.
He sustained terrible facial injuries in 1916 during the Battle of Jutland.
In 1917 he underwent an operation. Walter Yeo is one of the first patients who benefited from Sir Harold Gillies' (named"the father of plastic surgery")newly-developed technique, a form of skin grafting called "tubed pedical".
