The first Great Khan of the Mongol Empire, Genghis Khan, attempted to establish diplomatic and trade relations with Ala al-Din Muhammad, Shah of neighboring states (the territory of modern Iraq and Iran) in the XIII century. However, after all the proposals of Genghis Khan were rejected and the Mongolian diplomat was beheaded, Genghis Khan vigorously responded to such a form of denial, and sent 200,000 soldiers to destroy the state.
