Animals need to be fed. They need pastures. And often it’s cheaper to buy food for cattle and foresight abroad, or bring the cattle there. For instance, the United States do it in Haiti - one of the poorest countries in the world where most of the fertile land are used for planting alfalfa in order to feed American cows.
