#6 – Sikkim (1642-1975)
Sikkim was a small independent principality under the control of the Namgyal dynasty from 1642. In 1975, Sikkim was absorbed by India and entered into its structure as the 22nd state. In the period of independence of Sikkim, the famous Silk Road to China passed through it.
