Yugoslavia was founded on the ruins of the Austro-Hungarian Empire by combining parts of different countries. Kingdom of Yugoslavia was occupied by Germany during World War II. After it finished, Josip Tito, the leader of the guerrilla groups, created a socialist Yugoslavia and became its dictator. In 1992, the socialist Yugoslavia was divided in Croatia, Bosnia, Slovenia, Serbia, Macedonia and Montenegro.
