#11 – Apartment: Kramatorsk, Ukraine
In 1989, a small capsule containing highly radioactive cesium 137 was found inside a concrete wall of an apartment building in Kramatorsk, Ukraine. The capsule surface had a dose of gamma radiation equal to 1800 R/year. In the result, six people were killed and 17 people injured.
