Queenstown is located in the southwestern part of New Zealand's South Island. Located on the shore of the bay Queenstown in the small glacial lake Wakatipu. The town is surrounded by picturesque mountains. In the 60-ies of the XIX century gold was discovered here and the town experienced a real gold rush.
