Etlingera Elatior or Torch Ginger is red wax flower widely distributed in Costa Rica. Showy flowers are used for decorative purposes, while the flower buds is an important component in the dish Nonya laksa. In North Sumatra the flower buds are used for a dish arsik ikan mas.
