Nothing of the sort. You should be afraid of the brown recluses and the black widows.

Toads will give you warts.
Most likely this animal misconception originated from mothers wanting to stop their kids from bringing toads home, but actually it has no basis.

Baby birds are rejected by their mothers if they are handled by people.
In fact, birds have a good sense of smell and they would like never know that you handled their babies.
