According to a report in 2000 in Nature, a Penn State research team found that the tube worms that live in the cold sites in the Gulf of Mexico live longer compared to their cousins living in the hot and vents. According to estimations, it is believed that an average 2-meter-long tube worm can live 170-250 years.
